Africa Health Hospital Project

President Ando visited Nairobi, Kenya from April 30 to May 5, 2024 as a project team member. (This is the second visit following the one in May 2023)
This visit aimed to learn how CLC (equivalent to community centers in Japan) and other local facilities are involved in improving the well-being of people, especially those who are struggling to make a living, and to hold workshops with CLC and others.

Summary of Activities

On May 3, a workshop with African CLC (equivalent to Japanese community centers) and others was held at the JICA Kenya office.

Workshop held at JICA Kenya office. It was attended by participants from Magoso School in a slum area.

In addition, the following facilities/projects were visited.

  • The Garden of Siloam (a support facility for children with special needs and their families)
  • A-Goal League  (A-Goal Project’s support activities in Kenya)
  • Ezesha Plus(private educational institution)
  • Tumaini La Kesh(private educational institution)
  • Dadas Community and Education Centere(private educational institution)

Each organization has its challenges, but they were all very sincere, cheerful, and positive about their future.
It was a great opportunity for us to learn some important lessons from them.
