Japan National Wheelchair Handball Team Training Camp On June 22-23, 2024, our President Ando, participated as a support staff member for the Japan National Wheelchair Handball Team’s training camp held at Nihon Fukushi University. He provided training on doping and checked the condition of the players. On Sunday, April 14, 2024(Sunday), Ando appeared as a guest on Rainbow Town FM’s live program “Iine Johokyoku, Radio Mina Terrace” which airs every Sunday at 6:20 p.m. The personalities are Tetsuya Hijii, who is involved in a variety of community-based activities aimed at creating a co-existing society, and singer-songwriter Yuko Tani. Visit to Nairobi “Africa Healthy Hospital Project”

Africa Health Hospital Project President Ando visited Nairobi, Kenya from April 30 to May 5, 2024 as a project team member. (This is the second visit following the one in May 2023) This visit aimed to learn how CLC (equivalent to community centers in Japan) and other local facilities are involved in improving the well-being of people, especially those who are struggling to make a living, and to hold workshops with CLC and others. From February 1st to March 31st, 2024, we conducted a two-month crowdfunding campaign. We received generous support from a total of 174 individuals, amounting to 2,706,000 yen (with a target goal of 2,666,000 yen). We sincerely appreciate your cooperation. 【New!】Lectured at Tsukuba University

On November 9, President Ando lectured on “Medical Management” at the University of Tsukuba Graduate School. The lecture, titled “Medical Entrepreneur in Aging Society,” was full of content including introductions of Dr. Kazuko Kumon, who established and operates The Garden of Siloam (Kenya), Dr. Satoshi Nakamura of the Peshawar-kai, who fell victim to a bullet while saving many lives in Afghanistan, Dr. Hiroshi Nakamura, who hosted the Paralympics and established the Japan Sun Industries (Beppu City) and President Ando also shared the meaning of singing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Public Health. Lectured at Chiba University

On October 13, Representative Ando gave a lecture at Chiba University with Mr. Sanpei Ohama (NPO Smile Club) and Mr. Makoto Ohama (Smile Club, Para-Badminton player). The themes in the morning were “Encounters with Sports” and in the afternoon “Community Development through Sports”. I introduced a video of the “Taiyo no Ie (House of the Sun)” in Oita Prefecture, and asked the students to think about why the Paralympics were held in Japan in 1964, and what kind of society Dr. Yutaka Nakamura envisioned.

Supported the Para-Travel

Supported the Para-Travel Support Group organized by NPO ORIGAMI for the Chiba City Triathlon spectating event, together with Dr. Kyohei Nishino, Representative of Seeds, Inc. Para-Travel is an event organized by NPO ORIGAMI, where individuals with disabilities who typically cannot freely go out are accompanied by student volunteers to support Para-Sports.
