Kenya, like many other African countries, is facing a number of challenges, including issues related to food insecurity, poverty, and access to quality education. Community Learning Centers (CLCs), which provide literacy education and vocational training to citizens, are an important resource in addressing these issues. As a member of Teikyo University’s Healthy Hospital Project, a workshop was conducted with several CLCs in Kenya in May 2024. Additionally, visits were made to CLCs and facilities for people with disabilities (The Garden of Siloam, represented by Ms. Kazuko Kumon). Ando presented a report on the situation in Kenya, focusing on the current status and challenges of CLCs. In addition, Ando provided insights on his visits to Tanzania in August and Egypt in September.
