New! Supported the Para-Travel

This year, we once again provided medical staff support for “Para-Travel” (Para-Tabi), an initiative organized by the NPO Origami. “Para-Travel” is an event where diverse groups of people, including those who find it difficult to go out due to disabilities, spend a day enjoying themselves together. In its 5th year, this installment was held on November 16, 2025, as an excursion to Narita Dream Dairy Farm (Narita Yume Bokujo), with a total of 300 participants. At the 84th Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Public Health, Representative Ando reported on the findings of a survey regarding youth in need of support. On September 26, 2025, Representative Ando appeared as a guest on “Mie Shimizu’s Lovely Music” on Kawasaki FM. During the broadcast, Ando discussed experiences with medical activities in Africa and also spoke about the “Artpara Fukagawa Talking Art Festival.” This festival, where Ando serves as a volunteer, is scheduled to take place in Koto City from October 18 to 26, 2025. Visiting “Tanpopo-no-ie” and “Good Job! Center Kashiba” in Nara Prefecture

On July 18, 2025, we visited “Tanpopo-No-Ye” and the “Good Job! Center Kashiba” in Nara Prefecture, both of which support people with disabilities. The Art Center HANA of Tampopo-No-Ye, which has a history of more than 50 years, and the Good Job! Supported the Para-Travel

We are honored to have provided on-site support as staff for a project commissioned by the NPO ORIGAMI in Chiba Prefecture this year. Para-travel is an event where people from all walks of life enjoy a day together, including those who cannot normally go out easily due to disabilities. This year’s fourth annual event was held on October 19, 2024, at Inage Beach in Chiba Prefecture, with a total of 342 people participating in the excursion, which included participation in/watching a para-triathlon. Ando accompanied the Wheelchair Handball World Championship as the head of the Japan National Wheelchair Handball Delegation.

Representative Ando, as head of the Japan National Wheelchair Handball Delegation and team doctor, accompanied the 3rd IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship held in Cairo, Egypt, from September 16 to September 21, and returned to Japan on September 23. The Japanese team finished 5th out of 8 teams, but showed speed and skill on par with the world’s best, attracting a large crowd despite this being their first appearance in the tournament. Children’s Tanzania Experience

The “Beyond Borders with Football Project” (Overseas Camp), organized by Seeds, a general incorporated association, NGO TOFA, a specified nonprofit organization, and Institute of Global Medical and Sports Science (GMSS Human Lab.) was held in Tanzania from July 31 to August 9, 2024. In addition to the soccer tournament, the junior high school students from Japan enjoyed wonderful experiences through visits to a Maasai village, a junior high school, and a safari.
